Curriculum - Business School
One of the careers Oaks Heights prepares for is business.
Doctors, Dentists and Barrister are commonly self-employed
and require business acumen to support their growth.
Children are taught about business set-up and application.
They are taught everything from business plans, finances
and leases, to staffing, growth and reinvestment.
Investment products such as commodities, share trading
and real estate are also communicated and examined.
Business Investment at Oak Heights is where life skills
are taught. Children are taught about mortgages and
loans (and the related consequences), types of real
estate and the value of long term equity.
Simulations of business, and the associated hard work
that goes with it are also backed by investment funds.
Each team has an investment budget they can use when
their business preparation is complete. With approval
and guidance they will be given a real chance to start
up a business – which is incidentally held on trust
until they qualify at University degree level.
