  • The Children Act 1989
  • Education Act (2002), section 175
  • DFE guidance ‘Safeguarding Children in Education’ (2004)
  • ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ (1999)
  • ‘Dealing with Allegations of Abuse against teachers and other staff (Nov 2005)
We believe that all children have a right to be protected from abuse. It is the intention of the procedures within this policy to ensure that the appropriate action is taken immediately where it is alleged that a pupil is suspected of being abused. The prime concern at all times must be the interests and safety of the student. Oak Heights School  is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  Screening including a CRB check is routinely carried out on successful applicants. No complaints received in 2012 – 2013
