Trip to Houses of Parliament

On Thursday 19th June 2013 our Year 8/9 and 10’s had the opportunity to tour the Houses of Parliament and attend a key stage 4 workshop in which the Houses, Positions and Voting process’ were explained in detail. We sat in both the House of Commons Gallery and the House of Lords gallery to observe various debates such as carer’s benefits and North to South East business rail links.

The trip concluded with the fantastic opportunity to meet with and question our local MP Mary Macleod.

Congratulations to Manpreet Sehmi who secured a work experience placement with Mary Macleod for one week in the summer holidays after taking the opportunity to get in contact with the MP after the workshop.
