Art and Drama

Creative expression through Art and Drama is assuredly encouraged at Oak Heights. Art is taught in lessons to aid students in exploring the creative avenues of their minds and to ignite their imaginations. The study of Drama and English Literature goes hand in hand as the texts/plays studied in each tend to overlap. Consequently, the study of Drama is often incorporated into English lessons to help students gain a better understanding of the texts they study, improving their comprehension and analysis.
A more thorough focus on general acting takes place in the weekly Drama Club taught by Miss. Rhodes. Control of facial expressions, gestures and body language, in addition to being educated on set production and direction are key elements of this program. All students are welcome to attend.
