Back after half term, the Oak Heights students are in their final term
of the school year.  The GCSE’s and GCE’s are in full flow.  Our year
11 students are continuing to revise whilst their exams are going
on. The rest of the students are continuing lessons as normal and
will also be preparing for the end of year exams in a few weeks.

At the end of term 2 the Yellow House were announced the House prize
winners, so the prize trip will be arranged this term.  Alongside this
a trip for the Year 8’s will be organised.  We are also working on a
school trip to the Warner Brothers Studio for The Harry Potter
Experience.

Last term we were preparing the year 10 students for work experience.
C.V workshops were taking place.  Talks about work experience and
apprenticeships will be arranged for this term. The students will be
doing their work placements in September 2014.

The CV workshops proved to be very successful. The students were
given multiple tasks, case studies and scenarios to help them
understand the concept of a CV and eventually completing one for
themselves, in order to help them with their work experience
placements in September 2014.

In order to keep the students fit and active Swimming takes place
every Tuesdays, and MultiSports every Friday A selection of games such as
football and badminton and group activities are organised for the
students to interact in.  We are looking to introduce athletics in the
next term to build on the students strength, stamina and upkeep their
physical fitness.

As part of our on going fundraising projects the
Student Council will be organizing more sport tournaments to raise
money for charities. We look forward to hosting a Rounders tournament
next term.

The Exam centre is no longer taking applications for the examinations
taking place in June 2014.
